| In April 1964, Retail Inventory Service was a part time endeavor that offered services primarily on Saturdays and Sundays. As the retail industry changed, so did RIS. Business owners eager to keep more accurate records of inventory levels, began to schedule more frequent inventories. The demand for accurate inventories shifted from sporadic weekends, to quarterly, monthly and sometimes weekly services, providing daily work for inventory auditors.
In 1981, RIS shifted from a DBA to a Corporation status company. Since the transition, Retail Inventory Service, Inc. has grown with the demand for the service, offering the latest in technology for data-collection.
